In 2008 Douglas set up a small film production company and has produced four films so far He wrote and directed The Wishing Well, a short drama shot on the Black Isle, which was premiered at the 2008 Inverness Film Festival and was recently shown at Loopallu and Belladrum Music Festivals in our ScreenHI Five Minute Wonders Tent. In 2009, he directed A Life Worth Living, a short documentary about a young woman coming off heroin Since then he has worked on three films - Fighting Back, which was premiered at the Inverness Film Festival 2010 as well as at goNORTH 2011, A Cup Of Kindness for the Highland Community Care Forum and a documentary celebrating the 125th Anniversary of Clachnacuddin Football Club in Inverness.

Besides producing and directing short films, Douglas is also writing a feature film called The Road Home A treatment he wrote for the film recently won third prize in the 2011 Euroscript Screen Story Competition in London During 2012, Douglas hopes to continue with his documentary work as well as writing and directing another short drama.
