About

Rich attended the ScreenHI goSURF Podcasting Workshop, which was part of the Wave North Festival in Thurso in April 2011 Wave North is the fringe festival that originally ran alongside the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Surf competition in Thurso Rich also attending the podcasting workshop at goNORTH 2011 Radio broadcasting is very much Rich’s only outlet as he lives a very busy and active life looking after the family. He has been involved in community and hospital radio for the last four years and while he’s very used to speaking and playing music the editorial side of broadcasting is very much self taught.

The Wave North Podcasting workshop was the perfect environment to learn the skills of interviewing, using recording equipment, choosing backing music and editing the final results, with professional software The course also taught him the importance of planning and how to take an idea and develop it to a final result With the confidence the workshop given him he has already planned his next project and hopes it will be as much fun as getting to know the surfing folk of the O’Neil Cold Water Classic.  With the experience gained, he has also been asked to work on the audio for a short film, something he would never of attempted without the Wave North Workshop.

We have provided this area of our website for companies and freelance practitioners that ScreenHI has worked with in the Screen and Broadcast industry based in the Highlands and Islands to showcase, network and profile their work and craft.
