Applications open for Moray Game Jam 2017

Applications open for Moray Game Jam 2017

Moray Game Jam is here for the fourth year running and we, the team behind the event, are aiming to make it bigger and better than ever before. We will of course be running our core contest - 48 hours to create a digital or board game based on a theme which is unveiled at the start of the competition. Applications will open on Friday 13th January 2017, spaces are limited so please be sure to avoid disappointment and get your applications in early.

This year we have continued to work and refine our prizes and the winning team in each category will receive support and mentorship to take their ideas to the next level. We'll publish more details when we confirm the particulars.

The workshops will also be back this year and we are looking to offer even more freely available introductory workshops open to anyone curious about game design. Keep checking back for more details as they become available.

The event will be an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and network with like-minded individuals and leading industry figures. We look forward to welcoming you to the Moray Game Jam 2017!

Submissions Open 25th January For XpoNorth 2017

Submissions Open 25th January For XpoNorth 2017

Last year, just under 2000 delegates from all over the world flocked to Inverness to take part in Scotland's Leading Creative Industries Festival, XpoNorth. 2017 aims to be another vibrant festival and submissions will be opening for music, film, writers' pitches and delegate registration on Wednesday 25th January 2017.

XpoNorth are this year working with gigmit for music submissions (so get ahead and register your music act there), FilmFreeway for film submissions, and writers' pitches will be received via the XpoNorth website.

XpoNorth's day-time conference and screening programmes will again be held in Eden Court Theatre by the banks of the River Ness. In the evenings the festival will showcase many of the hottest live music acts from near and far in a variety of city centre live music venues; bringing delegates across the creative industries together to learn, share and enjoy.

Keep an eye out for more news and announcements coming up.
