A packed day of panels, presentations and chat looking at how to make a success of your creative career. This one day version of XpoNorth offers the chance to meet a range of industry specialists, look at a range of challenges and opportunities and put your own questions forward.

All free, the sessions are open to any level of experience. Whilst the different sessions available are aimed at specific parts of the creative industries, the content of the sessions is still very relevant to anyone regardless of what your creative passion is – crowd funding, looking at the challenges and opportunities of a rural base, licensing content amongst others. Here's a rundown of the sessions:

10.30 -11.00: Creative Scotland – Support and the new Creative Industries Strategy - Helena Ward, Creative Industries Manager at Creative Scotland.

11.00–12.00: Making it Here - Running a Successful International Craft Business from the Highlands & Islands - Helen Voce in conversation with Melanie Muir.

12.00–13.15: Skills for Strategic Design Consultancy - Iain Aitchison - Glasgow School of Art - Programme Director at the Institute of Design Innovation.

14.00–15.15: DIY: Self-publishing and Crowd Funding - Ben Galley, Dark Fantasy Author & Self-Publishing Consultant.

16.30–17.45: BBC: The Social - Anthony Browne, Executive Producer, Social Media, BBC.

17.45–19.00: Music placement across Multimedia - Speakers: Mark Allen, Joe McAlinden, and Connie Farr.

All speakers are available for one to one meetings as well as Jeni Oliver (International Executive, Creative Industries), Iain Hamilton (HIE Head of Creative Industries); and all XpoNorth Creative Industries Network managers: Amanda Millen, Peter Urpeth, Pamela Conacher, Alex Smith, and Kate Hooper.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise's #hellodigital initiative is hosting a series of FREE seminars on 360 video in three Highlands and Islands locations October-December 2016.

The seminars on ‘Using 360 video to promote your business’ take place in Inverness, Oban and Lerwick, explore why and how 360 video is being used, and include a quick tutorial on how to shoot and publish 360 video.
