XpoNorth Festival 2017

The dates for XpoNorth 2017 are confirmed as Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th June!

The festival base will again be Eden Court Theatre & Cinema in Inverness for the daytime programme, as well as various venues across the city during the evenings for the music showcase, receptions and other festival events.

In 2016 XpoNorth hosted:

• 37 conference sessions
• 13 hands-on training workshops and masterclasses
• 106 films featuring new talent from across the globe
• 66 showcasing bands in ten different venues
• 22 trade stands offering support and mentoring in a wide range of creative industries
• 21 gaming and technology companies and exhibitions
• 26 writers pitching to panels made up of major publishers and agents
• a brand new TV station called XpoNorth Live! staffed by trainees which provided a sample of the festival by interviewing around 30 festival participants and gave a platform to more than 50 bands
• two networking parties; one hosted by the Glasgow School of Art and this year’s Scotlandwide Festival of Architecture, the second by the Scottish Music Industry Association, Screen Facilities Scotland, Publishing Scotland, and Screen Academy Scotland.

Hit The Ground Running Course at XpoNorth 2017

Hit The Ground Running is coming to XpoNorth in 2017!

ScreenHI, XpoNorth's Screen & Broadcast network, working in partnership with BECTU and with support from Scottish Union Learning, bring this intensive and interactive two day training course for new entrants to film and television drama in Scotland.

The course consists of a comprehensive series of practical exercises designed to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, experience and confidence to help them progress their career. Developed in consultation with the freelance industry, the course is delivered by industry professionals.
