Kids and Characters Day
A connection made at XpoNorth's Creative Industries Festival has led to a collaboration of Brown Bag Films and STV Children's Appeal for a charity event taking place in Inverness in September.
Organised by local STV News reporter Nicola McAlley, Kids & Characters Day is encouraging people to take inspiration from their favourite children's books, TV programmes, stories and films and come along dressed up with a chance to win a prize for the best boy and girl. It will be held on 3rd September in Falcon Square and will host a bouncy castle and face painting by Mascot Madness, with Spencer Funfair providing fairground rides, and local children's performance groups throughout the day.
Nicola met Damien O'Connor of Brown Bag Films at an XpoNorth festival previously and he has generously drafted in their best caricature drawer Dan Nosella to provide the star auction item for the event - the chance to have your a child's caricature drawn by one of the artists of the hugely popular shows Doc McStuffins and the Octonauts.
Money raised at the event is to benefit the STV Children's Appeal, which raises funds for Scotland's children living in poverty. Find out more at the event Facebook Page.
