Talent Harpist Hopes for Study in London
Mon 22 Oct 2012 / News
Talented Highland gal Fraya Thomsen has been offered one of only four places at the esteemed National Film and Television School in London to study an MA in Composing for Film and Television. Fraya is one of the most exciting Scottish harpists of her generation A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the RSAMD), she is in constant demand as a performer, teacher and composer.
She has been working as Musician in Residence with Feis Rois in a year long post, She has also released a second album with The Duplets, 'Leverage' touring it around Scotland and as far away as Rio in spring this year. It was while working with Knoydart filmmaker Sam Firth and writing music for her short documentary 'The Worm Inside' that Fraya found inspiration to pursue her lifelong dream to compose for film and television.
She needs our help though in order to get there. Take a look at her sponsorship page for the background, maybe you can spare a penny or two or perhaps you can collaborate in return for sponsorship. This is a rare opportunity for her and for the Highlands so let's try and help make it happen.
Listen to some of Fraya’s music here.
Good luck Fraya!
