12noon - 1.20pm Helen Voce - Making it Here: Running a Successful International Craft Business from the Highlands and Islands. Helen Voce will discuss Melanie Muir’s international career, covering her participation in high level shows, the development of her online training programme and international workshops.
We are also offering Trends 1-2-1s with Fiona Chautard.
2pm - 3.15pm Tristan Aitchison - Introduction to Editing with Final Cut Pro X. Learn the basics of editing and storytelling in this interactive, hands-on session.
3.30pm - 4.45pm Russell McLean - Crime Pays. What is the secret of good crime writing? Why does my novel keep getting rejected? What are editors, publishers and readers looking for?
4.50pm - 5.50pm Iain Hamilton (Highlands and Islands Enterprise) David Martin (Skills Development Scotland), Helena Ward (Creative Scotland) Lorraine Thomson (Interface), Claire Kemp (Business Gateway) - What do you do? A short introduction to what the different public sector agencies can do to help.
6pm - 7pm - Alex Howell - Working with commercial partners. RAWK Agency Founder and Group Account Director, Alex Howell, will discuss how creative businesses can attract brand partners for their projects.
7.05pm – 8.30pm Duncan McCrone and Nick Edwards - PRS for Music: Online Licensing and Royalty Tracking in an Ever-Changing Marketplace. An insider's guide to online licensing, as well as tracking and managing royalties across and ever-increasing range of consumer platforms.
All speakers are available for 1-2-1 meetings as well as Jeni Oliver (International Executive, Creative Industries), Iain Hamilton (HIE Head of Creative Industries). Creative Industries Network managers, Alex Smith, and Kate Hooper will also be available for a chat.
