About

Aidan is a graduate filmmaker based in Edinburgh but originally from Shetland Her background is in community work, specialising in work with young people using film She is currently employed as a freelancer for the Scottish Borders Council and is working on various film projects outwith this including involvement in the Hansel of Film project She first became known to ScreenHI in 2011 when she filmed fly on the wall material at their annual creative industries festival goNORTH.

She has made several short films that have been shown at the Screenplay Film Festival, one of which won the Ann Cleeves Award and has toured with Hansel of Film 2012 She set up the young persons film group Maddrim Media in 2005 and ran it for four years providing support and resources for youth filmmaking in Shetland. The group has gained a reputation at a local and national level through its work.
