About
Sophia successfully applied for our 2012 HI Wireless drama writing programme, which is designed to encourage and develop aspiring drama writers through supported workshops and mentoring. The scheme will culminate with twelve 10 minute dramas being recorded for broadcast online in mid 2013
Sophia grew up in Rothenburg, Germany, and started writing short poems at the age of six. When she was eight, she won a poetry contest held by the Goethe Institut Rothenburg with her poem Wasser. She started training with Stagecoach in Ansbach at the age of ten. In 2011, she joined a youth theatre group for which she wrote short plays dealing with problematic topics in today’s society. While graduating from school, she also worked on her first full-length play, Traumtänze, which was first performed by her school’s drama group in June 2012. She moved to Inverness in September 2012 to attend the Acting and Performance course of the University of the Highlands and Islands She has performed a stage adaptation of her play Tears in the Snow at Play Pieces Shorts, a local drama showcase, in November 2012.
