As well as writing and directing Morna is an accomplished actor and musician She originally trained as a journalist working for companies including The Sheffield Star, HallamFM and Dazed and Confused magazine. She was arts/lifestyle columnist for The Northern Scot in 2012 She was one of the Playwright Studio of Scotland’s mentored writers 2012/13. Her first full-length play, Lost At Sea, spans forty years of the fishing industry and is currently in pre-production. Her second play, B-Roads (co-written, co-performed and co-directed with David Rankine), was  part of Play Pieces lunchtime theatre.

As an actor, she has worked across stage, screen and radio for companies including The National Theatre of Scotland, the Royal Lyceum, Dundee Rep, Eden Court, BBC Worldwide, GMTV and she is an Associate Artist with Out of the Darkness. A multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter, she is a member of Kevin McKidd’s band, The Speyside Sessions, and The Fishwives Choir. She has also composed scores for several theatre shows.
