MA in TV Fiction Writing
The MA in TV Fiction Writing has been developed in close collaboration with the television industry and wholly with its screenwriting needs in mind Television is where the vast majority of practising screenwriters work and where there is an abundance of writing slots and creative opportunities. Students are taught by both academic staff and top TV scriptwriting practitioners This programme forges an exciting new partnership between industry and education to produce the next generation of market-ready scriptwriters for the 21st Century Crucially, graduates will be capable of script development within the constraints and opportunities presented by a competitive global market for television drama.
ScreenHI sponsors a scholarship in the MA in Television Fiction Writing within the Glasgow Caledonian University Business School. In particular it supports applicants from the Highlands and Islands who would otherwise be unable to take up such an opportunity In previous years successful candidates on the ScreenHI scholarship have included David Cosgrove (pictured below with former Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University, Lord Gus Macdonald), Chrisella Ross and Seonaid Macdonald in 2010/11 Bryony Robinson and Craig Laurenson in 2012/13.
We are delighted that for 2013/2014 two Highlands and Islands writers will be taking a place on this brilliant course - Louise Wyllie and Jan Storie Jan is taking up the ScreenHI scholarship and Louise has been offered a scholarship from Ann MacManus and Eileen Gallagher, of Shed Media, two of the founders of the course and its driving force.
