This week sees the programme of this year's Edinburgh International Television Festival come alive.

There's a whole host of fantastic speakers, industry events, panels, discussions, awards, meetings, parties and receptions taking place over the three day festival - not to mention two incredible talent schemes running - Ones To Watch, and The Network.

XpoNorth has been working in partnership with the EITF this year with Highlands and Islands businesses attending the festival, H&I individuals taking part in the talent schemes, and at this year's XpoNorth festival the EITF brought a fantastic session to the conference programme called Crafting Fiction: Building A Career In Long-Running Drama with writers from Hollyoaks, Holby City and Eastenders.

The talent schemes are Ones To Watch which gives participants access to four days of inspiring sessions, creative debate, networking opportunities and support and mentoring throughout the year; and The Network, four days learning practical TV making skills from top programme makers, giving participants a taster of what it’s really like to work in television.
