About
Sam Firth lives and makes films in Knoydart, NW Scotland She has just finished filming her third documentary called Stay the Same - a film exploring time, funded by the UK Film Council and Creative Scotland Sam came through Bridging The Gap, a scheme that ScreenHI has been involved with for a number of years run by the Scottish Documentary Institute, where she developed and produced The Worm Inside Originally trained as a screenwriter, she was selected for The Berlin Talent Campus, Script Factory Scene insiders, The Script Naked programme and North by Northwest.
Her first film I.D. won awards at Celtic Media Festival, DepicT, Chicago Int Film Festival and her second film The Worm Inside was selected by Sight & Sound in its eight highlights of the London Short Film Festival Sam has also worked as a script editor, script reader and producer for Film Four, UKFC, Screen Yorkshire, Scottish Screen to name a few and in 1999 she assistant produced the cult digital feature Chunky Monkey Sam also works as a community film practitioner, programmes films for the Knoydart Festival and runs a small cinema in Knoydart, funded by Regional Screen Scotland.åå
